Rejuvenation Skills for Real Workdays (Refueling during the workday is the new ROI.)

When work is busy, rigid habits break. Fluency doesn’t.

This session teaches “wellness fluency” as a work skill you can use inside real deadlines when days gets chaotic. We’ll make a clear distinction between resting and rejuvenating. Scrolling on your phone or eating at your desk feels like a break, but it doesn’t give energy back. Rejuvenation does.

Attendees will build a personal menu of 5–10-minute resets they can do at a desk, such as breathwork, a fresh-air walk, a quick stretch- a brief reset ritual that actually refuels the brain to manage the rest of the day.

It’s not about perfect habits you feel you have to keep or break. It’s about simple, repeatable practices leaders can encourage and teams can do at a desk or in the office.

It’s not about what we do some of the time. It’s about how we live most of the time. Because refueling during the workday is the new ROI.

Learning Objectives:

  • Fluency > Habits. It’s not about perfect habits you feel you have to keep or break. It’s about simple, repeatable practices leaders can encourage and teams can do at a desk or in the office. Habits can make us feel like we’re failing. Fluency recognizes missteps as part of the learning process.
  • Differentiate Rest vs. Rejuvenation. Identify “fake rest” (phone scrolling, desk-eating) versus true resets that give energy back, and mindset shifts to choose the right option in the moment.
  • Build A Desk-Friendly Micro-Reset Menu. In this pen-to-paper workshop, attendees will build a “recharge toolkit”- writing down their favorite 5-10 minute resets to use between meetings or during long work days (e.g., journaling, playing with their dog, sitting down for an uninterrupted meal).
  • Wellness Starts At The Top. Practice short, non-awkward phrases that normalize breaks and model boundaries (e.g., “Let’s take a beat, recharge, and reconvene at :15,” “Have you made time for your lunch today?” “Who needs some fresh air before afternoon meetings?”).
